Instructions for Registering a Team on TennisLink

NOTE: Before Using TennisLink – Read the following important requirements

1. You must have a USTA membership valid through the current league season and have the USTA number ready to enter into the TennisLink registration system.
2. You must have an approved credit card ready for payment of your registration fee (VISA, Mastercard, American Express).

If you have met the above requirements, you are ready to proceed with registration for yourself (captain) and your team.

Step One: Go to TennisLink.

Step Two: If you are a captain or have been a captain in the past enter your USTA number in the “Captain/Coordinator” sign-in box and click “Go”.

Step Three: Confirm or update your email address click submit. Only captains will see this page.

Step Four: If you are a Team Captain and want to register your team proceed to Step 5. If you are a player and wish to register yourself, obtain your team number from your captain, then proceed to "Registering a Player."

Step Five: All Captains must create a new team number each season. This step creates a team number and registers the captain on that team.

1. Select the blue “Create a Team Online” located under the “League Players” section of the TennisLink homepage.
2. Select Section (USTA/Southern)
3. Select District/Area (KENTUCKY)
4. Select Area (KY-LEXINGTON)
5. Select League for 2006: (ex: 2006 Adult Men)
6. Select Flight (ex: 3.0 Men)
7. Enter Team Name using this format: State/local league/Captain’s last Name & first Name, (ex: KY/LEX/SMITH, Bob)
8. Select a home court facility:
   1. From Drop Down Box - Click on your facility’s name and proceed to Step i
   2. If not in Drop Down Box - Click “Other Facility” button.
   3. The “Facility Locator” screen will open
   4. In the “Facility Name” box and type the first 3 or 4 letters of your facility name (i.e.: Lou for Lexington Tennis Club) and click “Search”. Do not fill in any other boxes.
   5. If your facility does not appear using the name search, take out the 3 letters of your facility and try using the facility zip code.
   6. Once your facility is located, click on it once, the Facility Locator screen will close and the facility name will prefill on the Online Team Creation page.
9. Click “Create Team”.
10. Follow the instructions on the screen for payment.
11. Write down your team number. Print a copy of your confirmation. You need this number to give to your players so that they can register on your team.
12. If you did not receive a “Congratulations” screen with an invoice number then your team is not registered and the team number that you have is not valid.

Registering a Player: Once you have a team number, follow the steps below:

1. Enter the USTA number of the player or players starting on line # 1. Captains be aware! The USTA number that was used to log into TennisLink will always appear on the first line of the registration screen. Do not register yourself twice!
2. Enter your new team number for the current season (ex: Adult 2006).
3. Enter your phone number. This option will allow you to override your membership information should you wish to use cell phone numbers for your primary contact number.
4. Click “Submit”
5. Check the information carefully. If you register a person incorrectly you forfeit the registration fee.
6. Enter the credit card number on our secure site.
7. If you do not have a computer rating the system will prompt you to enter your self-rating. If you are a captain, do not register players that need to self-rate. If you choose a rating for another person and they do not agree with that rating it cannot be changed once a match is played. If you self-rate for another person and a grievance is filed against that person for playing below their ability you may be held responsible as well. 8. When the confirmation page is displayed, you are registered!

Checking your Team Roster

1. Go to tennislink national.usta.com.
2. If you are a captain, enter your USTA Membership number under the “Captains/Coordinators” section and click “Go”.
3. Confirm or update your email address click submit. Only captains will see this page.
4. Enter new Team Number and click “Go”.
5. Select “Player Roster”
   Note: In navigating in the team summary report, use the “Back” button on the screen.

Save yourself time - after checking the team roster, click “add to my teams”. Now each time you visit TennisLink this team will appear on your “My Teams” portion of the site and you will not have to enter the team number to access information. Captain’s note: you will still have to enter your USTA number in the “Captains/Coordinators” Section to “log-in” to access captain’s information like your team’s player contact information or phone numbers of other captains.
